joseph-artripIn 2011, Joseph J. Artrip joined Paul N. Weber to form the Law Office of Artrip & Weber. Prior to forming Artrip & Weber, Mr. Artrip was employed as an associate with Kevin T. Mulhearn, PC, in Orangeburg, NY from 2004 through 2010. Mr. Artrip also worked part time in 2007 with the law firm of Bruce Rodgers, PC in Orangeburg, NY.

Since 2004 Mr. Artrip has become experienced and skilled in representing clients in matrimonial and estate planning matters. As he recognizes the potential perils involved in family cases, Mr. Artrip works hard to obtain excellent results for clients and their children in all kinds of family law situations.

In addition, Mr. Artrip has had substantial success in appellate matters.

Mr. Artrip retired from the Orangetown Police Department, Rockland County, NY in 2008. He began his Law Enforcement Career in 1985 when he graduated in the top ten percentile of his class from the New York City Police Academy. Mr. Artrip transferred from the NYPD to the Village of Piermont Police Department where his primary functions were patrol and criminal investigations. In May 1989, Mr. Artrip transferred to the Town of Orangetown Police Department. He worked in the patrol division for a short period of time and was then selected to be a member of the Tactical Patrol Force, assigned to problem areas throughout the Town. Mr. Artrip was also a member of the Orangetown Police Department SWAT team, and the Rockland County Regional Entry and Counter Terrorism Team (SWAT).

During his time in Law Enforcement, Mr. Artrip was also assigned to the Rockland County Narcotics Task Force, New York State Organized Crime Task Force, and was a member of the Orangetown Police Department’s Selective Enforcement Unit. He was a Police Instructor at the Rockland County Police Academy. Mr. Artrip was promoted to Detective in July, 2005 and assigned to the Chief’s Office of the Orangetown Police Department. His duties included: Special Investigations, Police Background Investigations, restructuring the General Orders and legal issues involved as well as other administrative duties.

Mr. Artrip has used his extensive experience in law enforcement to become a zealous advocate for persons charged in criminal cases. His familiarity with the criminal justice system enables him to provide a vigorous and knowledgeable defense for criminal defendants at all stages of their cases.

Mr. Artrip graduated from Tappan Zee High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York. He received his Juris Doctorate from Pace School of Law in White Plains, New York.

Mr. Artrip is admitted to practice in the Federal Courts for the Southern District.
